Fendi Casa Opening Bash

Recently, I was invited to the opening of Fendi Casa at MASS Beverly. We had just returned from some traveling, felt exhausted, and I was under the weather. But if Fendi comes calling, you put on your heels and shimmy out the door for a soirée!

I chose a Johanna Ortiz x H&M dress for the occasion and paired it with this delicious Fendi bag (Spring/Summer 2018):

Inside we wandered eagerly from room to room taking in the vibrant and refined home collection and rubbing shoulders with a very well heeled crowd.

The evening’s DJ kept the whole space buzzing with energy while bartenders served up citrus infused cocktails and glasses of bubbly by Veuve Clicquot.

The event also introduced an exclusive piece, the Peekasit Los Angeles Edition chair which is an iterative extension of Fendi’s signature handbag, the Peekaboo.

If, like me, the furniture sits at an aspirational price point consider their incredible assortment of trays and small homewares instead.

Available in a variety of materials including marble, leather, and ceramic I have a couple of these on my wishlist.

The party stretched on into the night but jet lag was winning so we snuck out before the clock struck 9:00 PM.

Earlier in the day we had checked into Avalon Hotel, a midcentury gem situated nearby. It sits under the Proper Hospitality umbrella which also operates the Proper Hotels (peep my time at the Santa Monica Proper here or Downtown LA Proper here).

The next morning we ticked off a brunch destination that’s been on my list for ages, République. This French restaurant and bakery needs no introduction – it has flooded social media feeds for years and earned recognition from both the James Beard Foundation and Michelin Guide.

The stunning space is filled with dappled sunlight and hungry patrons. In full transparency, we found both breakfast entrees missable (perhaps it was an off day) but the pastries and fresh bread were more than worth it.

We only make our way to LA a handful of times each year (it’s close but traffic makes it feel far) and I’m already scheming how to get my hands on more of these pastries.

Despite the aforementioned exhaustion, this was the perfect overnight getaway with one of my favorite brands. A reminder that making the good memories always outweighs the hurdles. See you soon(ish), LA.
